Chizuko Endo and Kenny Endo

Taiko Center of the Pacific (TCP), a school of traditional and contemporary Japanese drumming, was established in 1994 by Kenny and Chizuko Endo to preserve traditional Japanese drumming and to create new music for taiko.  TCP offers classes in taiko drumming to the general public year round for all ages and all skill levels.  Since its inception, thousands of children and adults have studied kumidaiko, or ensemble drumming, at Taiko Center of the Pacific. Students learn basic form, technique, practice pieces, and cultural customs associated with the art form.  TCP is proud of its highly qualified instructors with Kenny Endo serving as Artistic Director.

In 2025, Taiko Center of the Pacific will celebrate its 31st year and Artistic Director Kenny Endo will celebrate his 50th year of taiko drumming. Celebrations are planned for the week of August 9-15. Plan to be here and help celebrate!

TCP also has two performing ensembles (an adult group and a youth group) that perform at events such as private parties, festivals, schools, concerts, and more.  To learn more, visit our performing ensembles’ page.
