“Give Aloha”, Foodland’s Annual Community Matching Gifts Program, was created in 1999 to honor Foodland’s founder, Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan to continue his legacy of giving back to the community.
Through Sunday, October 3rd, customers can donate up to $249 to their favorite non-profit organization and Foodland will match a portion of your donation. This is a great way to increase the value of your donation. This year, Foodland will match each donation with at least $250,000 for all organizations combined. The matching gift will be divided proportionately among all participating organizations.
Taiko Arts Center (TAC), a 501c3 non-profit organization, participates in the “Give Aloha” program. TAC is a major supporter of many TCP programs and activities, such as:
-Providing scholarships for the Taiko Center of the Pacific Fellows
-Providing support for the reskinning of all taiko used by TCP students
-Providing support to several TCP programs, workshops, performances and concerts, some of which include: the 2021 “AME, Tears of the Earth” virtual concert, the Summer Taiko Intensives, the 2013 and 2017 “Taiko Drum and Dance” concerts, and many collaborative performances with local and visiting artists.
All of these programs are made possible thanks to TAC’s continued support. The next time you shop at Foodland this month, please consider making a donation to TAC. TAC’s Give Aloha code is 78462.
How to donate with Give Aloha:
You must have a Maika’i card in order for Foodland to make the matching gift. Donations made without a Maika’i card will not be matched. If you do not have a Maika’i card, you can simply apply for one at the cash register. The Maika’i card also gives you great discounts at Foodland supermarkets. Just tell the cashier that you want to make a “Give Aloha” donation to Taiko Arts Center.
More ways to donate this September:
1. Donate your My Rewards ($5 donation)
2. Purchase a Give Aloha tote by Punky Aloha
3. Place an online grocery order for delivery or curbside pickup and make your donation:
-Add your donation amount to your cart
-At checkout, please indicate “Taiko Arts Center” and our code “78462” in the “item notes box”
For more information on Give Aloha, please visit Foodland’s website.
